About Us
MAXWOODS FRAMERS & GILDERS are a bespoke picture framing company operating out of Cape Town and have been been making frames for over forty years. During this time the business has constantly evolved and innovated the way pictures and objects are framed. The only aspect that has never changed is our proffesional approach to service and our uncompromising quality. Almost all of our mouldings are bought in their raw state. Once here we cut, precisely join and carefully sand down and finish every frame. Once the frames have been inspected for quality they are painted and often gold or silver leafed by hand or finished to your specifications. Every finish is unique as all the work is done by our team of skilled individuals. Every work is treated with the utmost attentiveness. Paperworks are mounted using the most appropriate mount board. Be it pH neutral or museum grade rag board we will advise you as to the best way in which to present your artworks. The glass in front of your artwork is often overlooked but we are able to offer a few different types. The best of which is our
non-reflective glass
which also absorbs UV light. Manufactured in Europe it is the highest quality glass available anywhere. From hand finished mouldings to extra clear non-reflective glass, archival mounting to unique frames we are confident that we are able to exceed any expectations you may have about a picture frame.
